miraDry® treatment: A patient reports

Underarm perspiration was a daily occurrence for Maria H. from Osnabrück. For more than 40 years. But since her treatment in February 2023, that's a thing of the past. miraDry®: Sweat-free with just one treatment

When a friend first told me about miraDry®, I couldn't believe it. "Goodbye underarm sweat"—and all with just ONE treatment? I'm usually pretty skeptical when I hear things like that. But it stuck with me. I knew that Botox® helps with underarm sweat, but only for a few months. I couldn't imagine there being a long-term solution. So I did some research, read countless testimonials, and finally came across Löwen Ästhetik in Braunschweig.

The miraDry® method itself seemed plausible to me, yet I had numerous questions:

How long does the miraDry® treatment take?
How painful is sclerotherapy of the sweat glands?
How long does the effect really last?
Will Dry® also help against odor?
How much does the treatment cost?

And this question also preoccupied me: Do I actually sweat more in other areas?

My experience with the miraDry® treatment:

The treatment itself was uncomplicated. Thanks to the local anesthetic, I felt virtually nothing.
The team was super nice, explained everything in detail and took great care of me.
I felt very well advised and supported by Dr. Brölsch.
The treatment itself took about an hour. You need to allow some time beforehand and also stay for a while after the treatment for observation and to cool your underarms.
Depending on the skin type (I have very fair skin and fine skin), the skin reacts differently. In my case, the skin became red and small bumps formed.
I admit: It did sting a bit afterwards, but with the gel pads and an ibuprofen tablet it was all bearable.
The pain was already very mild the next day. It felt more like everything under my arms was very dry.
After a few more days, almost all the nodules had disappeared, the last two after about eight weeks.
Less than a week after the treatment, I had to moderate a group of 50 employees for two days. Under other circumstances, I would have reapplied deodorant several times or washed my underarms. This time everything was different: no sweat, no odor, no stains.

My conclusion today, about two months after the miraDry® treatment:

I would do it again in a heartbeat! Occasionally, and only during more strenuous activity or movement in my daily life, I experience a minimal film of perspiration. However, it doesn't even cause stains. I knew that the miraDry® treatment didn't offer a 100% guarantee. And yet, it was worth every penny! I can finally wear blouses, dresses, and tops that I like again – without having to worry about underarm sweat and odor being noticeable. I feel fresher and freer. A side effect of the treatment Gluteal Area : While underarm hair growth hasn't stopped completely, it's significantly reduced. Overall, therefore: two thumbs up – for miraDry® and Löwen Ästhetik .
