Migraine treatment with Botox®

Effectively combat headache attacks
In our practice in Braunschweig, we primarily treat patients with Botox® who suffer from migraines about half the month or more frequently. Migraine is defined as the periodic occurrence of headache attacks . It is often accompanied by symptoms such as loss of appetite, nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound. Some sufferers also experience neurological symptoms similar to those of a stroke. These symptoms are called an aura and usually precede the headache.

Therefore, we take ample time to review your medical history and will honestly assess whether or not treatment with Botox® injections is a medically appropriate complementary therapy.

Botox® is administered in a highly diluted form and is therefore well-tolerated by the body. The injections are given in the area of the head where the pain is located. The treatment relaxes the surrounding muscles, relieves pressure on the nerve, and can thus to pain relief, even complete pain freedom . The muscle-relaxing effect only lasts for a certain period, usually a few weeks to months. Therefore, continuous treatment is necessary for successful application. However, if the therapy is effective, you can live with minimal or no discomfort for several weeks to months with minimal effort.
